In MUN class, we learned that "National Sovereignty" means that the countries want control over their own business in their own country, not liking other countries interfering with their decisions.
Violations of a nation's sovereignty include sending soldiers into the country without its permission, interfering with its government, and attacking the country.
In MUN conferences, delegates of the Middle-Eastern countries often repeatedly use the phrase "violating national sovereignty" when they have nothing else to say.
China and Russia still don't take action on Syria because they think if they do so, they will infringe the sovereignty of Syria, which is not acceptable.
Sovereignty of nations cannot be messed with.
